Change to Regional Test Profiles
13 July 2020
SA Pathology has undergone a review of testing profiles that are performed at our regional laboratories. As a result, from Tuesday 4 August 2020 we will relocate some low volume testing into the larger metropolitan laboratories to ensure we continue to provide a comprehensive diagnostic pathology service to the regional hospitals and communities.
Impacted assays at this time are:
- Amylase
Please be aware that Lipase is a more specific test for suspected pancreatitis and this can still be ordered at all regional sites.
- Pleural Fluid and Synovial Fluid Chemistry
Please be aware that Urine Chemistry assays can still be performed at all regional sites.
Any queries can be directed to Dr Penny Coates, Clinical Director, Chemical Pathology, SA Pathology 08 8222 3000.
Regards,
Dr Tom Dodd
Clinical Service Director
